Chat Panel

Overview

The Chat Panel allows you to converse directly with the assistant while you're building it.

Conversations started from the Chat Panel are real conversations with a few exceptions:

  • When assigned to your assistant, they will bypass the published version and instead execute against the last saved draft
  • Chat Panel conversations automatically log events to the Debug Workbench
  • They are excluded from billing

Aside from those caveats, the conversations run normally through your Quiq instance, meaning they will be routed by Conversation Rules and can be escalated/reassigned from the assistant.

Chatting with your Assistant

In order to start a conversation, you can use the Chat button in the header and in the bottom right of the Flow panel:

Assistant Errors

An assistant must not have any validation errors and the draft must be saved (but not published) in order to initiate a chat.

You can use the Validation Issues button to easily identify what errors you need to correct in order to chat with your assistant:

Editing your Assistant

If you make further edits to your assistant while you have an ongoing conversation, a banner at the top will indicate that there are unsaved changes:

Once you save the assistant, the active conversation in the Conversational panel will end:
